With the opening of Dayley Dance Academy in 2006, she picked back up in her training in pointe ballet, jazz, hip hop, and everything in between. She also danced with the Union High School dance team where she was elected captain of her team for two consecutive years. Mackenzie continued performing, traveling, and teaching many classes with Dayley Dance Academy after graduating high school in 2010.
In 2015, she moved to Utah where she attended UVU for two years, dancing in the Modern department. She trained in modern and ballet with several artists, professors and guest artists. During her time at UVU, she danced with Synergy Dance Company, and was invited to attend ACDA (American College Dance Association) at the University of Wyoming in the Spring of 2016 where she performed, competed, and attended master classes with several dance artists. While training at UVU, Mackenzie also studied improvisation, composition, movement fundamentals, Laban analysis, and dance film.
In the summer of 2017, Mackenzie moved back to Washington and now is a full-time instructor at Dayley Dance Academy NW. She continues to train by attending conferences like Dance Teacher Summit and other workshops around the states in the meantime. Aside from teaching, Mackenzie currently assists Sarah Dayley in directing the newly found Non-Profit dance school, DDANW. Outside of work, you can catch Mackenzie in a yoga class or planning her next vacation![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][TS-VCSC-Divider divider_type=”ts-divider-two”][vc_column_text]
