Emily fell in love with performing at an early age. Training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, some hip hop and tap filled her youth. She also performed in countless musicals and competed regionally and nationally with her dance studio located in Redmond, Washington. Her passion for choreography and teaching formed as she received her B.A. in Dance from Brigham Young University. There she developed her skills in modern and contemporary dance, along with international dance styles. She had the pleasure to perform nationally and abroad with BYU’s International Folk Dance Ensemble. She also performed with one of BYU’s contemporary teams, DancEnsemble. Emily has taught at BYU, public schools, dance studios, for church groups and choreographed for musicals. Emily is happy to found her way back to the evergreen state and join the family at Dayley Dance Academy. She strives to create a safe environment for her students to learn dance by gaining self-confidence, working with others and learning to use their body correctly as their tool in the art form of dance.
