Tuition for the Academic Year:

Tuition is per class

Classes operate on an academic calendar year from September to June is based on a total of 38 lessons. Most months will have 4 lessons, while some will have 3 or 5, but tuition payment plans are based a calendar year. Your academic year tuition is inclusive of holidays off.  Stage rehearsal and performance days each count as one class day.  If you are on a monthly payment plan, your tuition has been prorated and is the same each month, DO NOT adjust your tuition payments.

  • Tuition is due on the 25th of the prior month!
(Example June Tuition is due May 25th)

Other Fees

In addition to tuition

All fees are per dancer, unless otherwise specified.

  • Registration fees are once yearly fees prior to first class.
  • Costume and Recital Fees are for those students participating in the end of year June showcase.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are available for students who would like extra training or who need more focused work with their instructor for class performance choreography due to missed classes or other reasons.

FAQ & Policies

Frequently Asked Questions = Policies

YES! All students are required to enroll in: ACH automatic payment deduction from an authorized bank account.  All payments will be deducted on the 25th of the prior month.

(Example: October Tuition is due on the 25th of September, and is considered late after the 1st of October.)

Note: all payments will be charged a processing fee.  “Why is there a payment processing fee?” FAQ for rates.

As a non-profit, we strive to keep our prices as low as possible while maintaining the quality of our offerings.  As such we pass a modest processing fee that helps to cover related banking & handling fees related to accepting payments.

Payment Processing Rates:

  • ACH = 1%
  • Credit Cards = 4%
  • Check or Cash (Tuition Payments only) = $5/transaction.
  • To Avoid Processing Fees, refer to our “Payment Plans” in the tabs below.
  • The Purpose of Autopay: Basically we’ve learned (from 10+ years of experience) that in order to handle the administrative costs associated with processing checks & making hundreds of phone calls/emails/letters at the beginning of every month to people who haven’t paid their tuition on time (because they wanted to pay with a check) can be crippling to the operations/administration of our school.  So, like other dance schools around the country, we created an auto-pay policy, to improve things. The auto-pay policy eliminates the excessive costs associated with collecting unpaid balances while leveraging technology to automate accounting procedures (helping to cut unnecessary costs).  We have a parent portal where families can manage their payment preferences & make payments online.
  • Processing fees: Rather than raising tuition for everyone to cover these payment processing fees, we offer different payment methods & pass the related fees from the chosen payment method, directly to our clients. This way, people only need to pay fees related to the payment methods they are directly using. We are a 501c3 non-profit dance school & as such we strive to make the movement arts available to as many people as possible through subsidized tuition, scholarships & generally keeping our costs as low as possible.  This method of covering payment processing fees, is in line with keeping all of our costs as low as possible.
We understand that it may not always make sense to each individual… (For example: someone who pays with a check & never pays late may view these policies as unreasonable), but as a non-profit dance school who serves hundreds of students… it only takes a few people who for one reason or another (many times understandable reasons) don’t pay on-time each month, to cause a tremendous amount of unnecessary work & burden to our operations.  Most of the time it’s not even the same people (from month to month)… and many times the reason’s are completely understandable why someone wasn’t around to make the payment on-time.  But either way they are costs we deemed unnecessary & avoidable.

Students are enrolled in classes for the academic year, and all tuition has been prorated to accommodate your payment plan. If you’d like to change or drop a class, we require a 30 day written notice in the form of a signed “Change/Drop Class Form”.

Students participating in June Recital are not permitted to Change or Drop Classes that are scheduled for the remainder of the month of June.  By performing in Recital, the student agrees to finish the remainder of the 38-class curriculum.

Add Class/Drop Class Form

Tuition Responsibility: Students/Parents are responsible for tuition through the 30 days, until the official drop class date. Auto Payments will still be charged on the 25th of the month as per the enrollment agreement, and any adjustments will be made by the front office on the last payment due.

Full tuition will be refunded only if written notification from the parent is received 24 hours prior to the first class.  If full yearly tuition is prepaid, a 75% prepaid tuition refund will be granted up to the third class. No tuition refunds will be granted after the third class.

We do not refund for missed classes.

All fees are non-refundable, including costume fees, recital fees, tickets, registration fees, dance wear orders, rentals, etc.

All tuition, late fees, recital fees, costume fees, & any other outstanding balances, must be paid in full before any student is permitted to perform in any production.

We offer 3 payment plans with zero transaction fee using cash or check only:

1/10 of the total tuition will be charged each month from September through June. Tuition is due on the 25th of the prior month (Example: October tuition is due on September 25th. Please Note: Tuition would be considered late after the 1st of October.)

3 Payment Plan:

1/3 of the total tuition paid on the 25th of August, November, & February.

2 Payment Plan:

1/2 of the total tuition paid on the 25th of August and December.

1 Payment Plan:

Full season tuition paid by August 25th.

All payments are due on the 25th of the prior month, and considered late after the 1st.  Late fees are $25.  Late fees are charged every month until balance has been paid in full.

(Example: An invoice that is 3 months late will have a $25 late fee applied for each month.  Total late fee would be: $75.)

Yes!

Customers are responsible for making sure ACH/credit/debit cards will clear on the payment date.  If payment fails for any reason, a $35 failed payment processing fee will be charged. NSF checks will incur a $35 NSF charge.  Please note that clients are responsible for updating the payment method to avoid failed payment fees when credit cards expire, or are over limit.

Example Failed Auto-payment: If your automated payment fails for any reason and the original amount of the automated payment is $104.  A $35 payment failed fee + $25 late fee will be added to your bill.

Example Above: $104 + $35 + $25 = $164 is now due.

We reserve the right to stop accepting checks from anyone that has payed with a check that came back NSF in the past.

General Policies

Returning Students will be provisionally placed in class based on an evaluation from the previous academic year. However, the teacher has the authority to reassign a class level, following an evaluation of the student’s first class.

Family and friends are invited to observe the last 10 minutes of classes. Unless a special invitation has been granted, individuals not registered for the class will be expected to remain outside the classroom during instruction in order to help our dancers and instructors maintain focus.

Good attendance is imperative to a dancer’s progress. The Dayley Dance Academy NW’s administration and faculty appreciate advance notice of necessary absences. Students will be allowed four make-up classes at or below their level. Students with inconsistent attendance may be dismissed from their class and/or moved to another class. Failure to attend regularly may result in being removed from performance.

The slow warm-up of muscles is crucial to the prevention of injury. Students more than 10 minutes late without previous notice may be asked by their teacher to sit and observe the class.

Students are entitled to 4 make-up classes per class they are enrolled in. Make-up slips should be obtained from the Dayley Dance Academy front desk prior to the make-up class. Dancers may not use make-ups to enroll in a new class. Make-up classes cannot be used during May prior to June showcase, unless dancer is making up in a non-performance class.

In the event of inclement weather that affects the driving conditions for a majority of our dancers or instructors, the studio will close and reopen when driving conditions are safe. An email will be sent to all enrolled students regarding any such closure.

However, if inclement weather affects only a small portion of our students, the studio will remain open for those that are easily able to make it to classes.

If driving conditions are unsafe for you, please call the office to help in keeping us informed.

360-210-5981 Front Desk

Please note, if public schools are closed due to snow or ice, don’t automatically assume DDANW will be closed. Our dancers & instructors come from all over Clark County, and many times the inclement weather doesn’t negatively affect the majority. The final decision of a snow day rests with the Dayley Dance Academy NW director. The decision to close for a “snow day” will be based on a multitude of factors that take into account the best interests of the majority (students & instructors).

The risk of injury exists in any physical activity. Please consider this before enrolling your child. Dayley Dance Academy Northwest cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss of property. Valuable personal possessions should not be left in dressing rooms, lobby, or restrooms under any circumstances.

If you feel you are a victim or witness of bullying, tell an adult you trust; your teacher, parent, or administrator in the DDANW office. Do not fight back or join in any bullying. DDANW is a Bully Free Zone.  Those individuals who choose to be violent or intimidate others verbally or by using harsh body language, will be suspended from the studio with an obligation to continue paying tuition for 30 days until a decision is made by the DDANW Director regarding a return to classes.

In registering your child, we have your permission to use class, studio or performance photos/film in marketing, publication, editorial, art projects, or other uses deemed appropriate by Dayley Dance Academy Northwest (“DDANW”), and Agree to the “Photograph/Film Release” below. If you object, please submit your objection in writing at the time of registration. Parents may only take photos or videos on observation days with the approval of the instructor and DDANW Administration.
